Storm Boy’s View – BigV 2022 Round 5

Ohhhhhh, I think old Stormy’s overdone the Easter eggs and hot crossed buns last weekend. He’s fuller than a politician’s pork barrel at election time!

But that won’t stop me giving you the good oil on our Storm games this weekend.

Division 1 Men

Saturday 23rd April v Bulleen 8.00pm East Doncaster Secondary College

No, you’re not seeing things…the Storm take on Bulleen on Saturday night, after only hosting them a couple of weeks ago, where our lads ground out a good win.

Don’t believe that lightning doesn’t strike twice! Stormy feels that it will be a similar game and the same result, with our lads leaving with the choccies.

Division 1 Women

Saturday 23rd April v Craigieburn 7.00pm Bellarine Secondary College

Our Division 1 Ladies are the only ones who have drawn a home game this weekend as we host Craigieburn on Saturday night.

This is shaping as a crunch match for Sando and the team, with a win being more needed than a fast forward button on the TV for all the election ads at the moment!

The Storm will need to make sure they’re in the contest for the full four quarters and not have a mid match siesta as has happened in recent weeks.

Stormy has a feeling that our Ladies will greet the judge in this one and get the points in a close one.

Youth League Men

Sunday 24th April v Southern Peninsula 2.00pm Hillview Stadium

What a lovely weekend for a day trip to Dromana on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula! The only problem for our Youth League Men, is there’ll be no lazing on the beach, with an ice cream and a nice cold drink, there’s a game of basketball to win.

Leigh Dawson’s troops have been on a roll in recent weeks, and will be extra keen to keep that winning feeling going.

This promises to be a close and hard fought game, with both teams side by side on the ladder right now in the Watson Conference. With Jarvis Gleeson, Ryan Robertson and Ethan McDonald leading the troops, the Storm might just be a little too talented for the Sharks and reel in the win.

Youth League Women

Saturday 23rd April v Blackburn 6.00pm Mullum Mullum Stadium

This game reminds me of that Arnold Swarzeneger and Danny De Vito movie Twins. These two sides couldn’t be any more alike than those two.

Our Youth League Women are 4 and 0 to start the season and on the other hand, Blackburn are yet to open their account for 2022.

Seems to Stormy that by the end of this one, that’s not likely to change!

Well, that’s it for this week. A reminder that Monday is ANZAC Day, a day for us all to reflect and remember the sacrifices others made, so that we can enjoy all the freedoms we do today. Make sure you take a moment to remember on Monday.
