Storm Boy’s View Round 15 2021

We’re back folks.  The old ‘Rona has wreaked some havoc and gave us all a little rest however we were back at it last weekend.

Stormy’s keen to get back into the swing of things and so, here we go, with my look at this weeks games.

Division 1 Men

Saturday 3rd July 2021 v Collingwood, Bellarine Sports Centre 7.30pmSunday 4th July 2021 v Bulleen, East Doncaster Secondary College 3pm

After a good win last weekend, our Div 1 Men sit very nicely thank you, in second place on the ladder and are now gearing up for a finals campaign in 2021.

This weekend though, presents a tough challenge with both the ‘Woods and Bulleen still pretty keen to be a part of the post-season action and will be keener than Aunty Gladys to ‘lock down’ a spot.

Based on last weeks result, Stormy is predicting a ‘boomer pie’ for the Storm Men this week…..Delicious (sorry Bruce!).

Division 1 Women

Saturday 3rd July 2021 v Chelsea, Bellarine Sports Centre 5.30pm

A tough ask coming up on Saturday for our ladies as they take on top of the table Chelsea.

Olivia Virt had a big game last week and her form will need to continue to give the Storm ladies any chance of scoring the upset.

Whilst we always look at things with a glass half full philosophy, this may prove harder than getting a COVID vaccine right now!

Youth League Two Men

Saturday 3rd July 2021 v Western Port, Mornington Civic Reserve 7.00pm

It’s. tough little gig in Youth League 2 men right now, with a number of teams in the Terrell Conference well in the mix for a finals berth, making this an important game for the Storm this weekend.

Western Port are one of the teams in the hunt and a win here for Bellarine will put some more distance between them and their nearest rivals and also push them a bit further up the table.

Lockdown 4.0 came at the wrong time for the Stormers as they were on a bit of a roll before the enforced break and also had a bye last weeks, so Coach Dawson’s troops will be champing at the bit to get back to it this week.

Like caged Lions finally released, I’m expecting the Storm to feast on the opposition this week and get the win.

Good luck to our Storm teams this week and make sure you get along to the Bellarine Sports Centre on Saturday night for our Division 1 double header.

In the meantime, Stormy’s off to man the borders to keep those pesky interstate interloper’s out so we can get this season back on track!

Storm Boy……out!
