Storm Boy’s View – Big V 2022 Round 7

Holy moly folks, winter is close now but have we got some action to warm you up right down to the tippy toes this weekend, with a massive triple header on Saturday night at Storm HQ!

It promises too be so hot, Stormy’s taking the marshmallows to toast over the heat of the night.

Youth League Women

Saturday 7th May v Coburg 4:00pm Bellarine Secondary College

Sunday 8th May v Wallan 12:00 R.B. Robson Stadium, Wallan

Kicking off the smorgasbord of basketball on Saturday night are our Youth League Women against Coburg in what is shaping as the starting point of a big test for our undefeated ladies this weekend.

The Giants have only dropped one game for the season to date, to undefeated Wallan and they sit just below us on the ladder, so will be a tough match up for the Storm and then on Sunday, the Storm back up to face Wallan at Wallan.

Our Storm girls have shown a real ability to share the load this season and again that will be key to grabbing the points in this one. Stormy feels that whilst it it’ll be a tough weekend, the Storm should just have their noses in front come full time in both games and top the table by Sunday night.

Youth League Men

Saturday 7th May v Wallan 6:00pm Bellarine Secondary College

Unfortunately, last week, our Youth League Men were all at sea against the undefeated Pakenham, in a game that’s best quickly forgotten.

There’s no doubt it would have been a hard week on the track this week and Stormy fully expects our boys to bounce back and find the winners list again in this one.

The visitors have won their last two outings, so will be keen to keep the taste of victory, however, the Storm have been pretty consistent this season and should have just a little bit too much firepower for the visitors in this one.

Division 1 Women

Saturday 7th May v Western Port 7:00pm Somerville Recreation Centre

After a weekend off last weekend, our Div 1 Women are off to Somerville to face Western Port.

Stormy has been feeling all week that our ladies could well cause the boil over in this one and find their way back to the winners podium. Call Stormy ‘silly’ (and many people have!) but it’s a feeling in his tummy. Just hope it’s not last night’s dodgy vindaloo!

Division 1 Men

Saturday 7th May v Corio Bay 8:00pm Bellarine Secondary College

And now to the main event! Our Div 1 Men welcome cross-town rivals Corio Bay to Storm HQ in game three on Saturday night.

After 2 big wins last weekend, Stormy senses that our boys might just be getting their mojo going and will be keen to storm the barricades and take no prisoners in this one.

Whatever the outcome, it’ll be a drag ’em out, knock ’em down, stand ’em up and knock ’em back down again contest and with local bragging rights on the line, both sides won’t give an inch.

On the Storm HQ battlefield though, Stormy feels that we should be able to defend the home fort and get the victory.

Well, that’s enough from me this week, don’t forget your thermal underwear and wooly jumpers this weekend and stay warm!

STORM BOY…….OUT!!!!!
