Storm Boy’s View – BigV 2022 Round 2

Who’s ready for some round two baby?

Stormy’s as excited as he was when ScoMo picked up his Ukulele!!

Division 1 Men

Saturday 26th March v Bulleen 7.30pm Bellarine Secondary College

Well, it’s fair to say that the opening weekend was a real downer for our D1 Men after copping a couple of Sonny Bill Williams upper cuts in their 2 games, so the boys will be looking to bounce back straight away against the Boomers at our place on Saturday night.

Bulleen had a slightly better time of it last weekend with a loss on Saturday night against Southern Peninsula before defeating Collingwood on Sunday.

The Storm will be hungrier than Matt Preston at a buffet to get the win this week and Stormy’s confident the lads will bounce back and get the ‘w’ to open their account for 2022.

Division 1 Women

Saturday 26th March v Melbourne Uni 6.30pm Melbourne University Sports Centre

Boy, oh boy didn’t our D1 Women get off to an exciting start to the season with an OT win against Mildura, with lots to like about how we went about getting the job done.

This week, they head up to Melbourne to take on the Students, who are coming off a home loss to Warrnambool last weekend.

Stormy is thinking that with the self belief that came out of last weeks win, the Storm ladies will be up to the challenge and may just ‘school’ the students this weekend to make it a 2-0 start to 2022.

Youth League Men

Saturday 26th March v Maccabi 5.30pm Bellarine Secondary College

Stormy did suggest that Sunbury at Sunbury can always be a difficult proposition and so it proved last Sunday for our Youth League Men as they fell in round 1.

Unfortunately, a third term siesta cost the boys in the end, so Stormy is suggesting some Red Bull in the water bottles at half time to make sure that they don’t suffer the same fate this weekend.

This weeks opponent in Maccabi had no answers for Whittlesea last week and will also be keen to find the winners list, so we should be in for an entertaining opening game at Storm HQ this Saturday night.

Youth League Women

Saturday 26th March v Chelsea 5.00pm Patterson River Stadium

What a start to their debut season for our Youth League Women as they romped to a big win in their opening outing in Round 1.

This week should see the return of ‘cyclone’ Carly Sanders, which will make them even harder to handle and enough to make Stormy confident enough to predict a 2-0 start to 2022 for our young ladies.

Unfortunately for our hosts, they were on the end of a couple of one sided contests in Round 1 so may be a little shell shocked this weekend, which is a perfect time to pounce.

Like a lioness in the Serengeti, our Youth League Women should be eyeing their prey and preparing to pounce this weekend for the win.

There we go, Stormy’s thoughts on what’s coming up this weekend. Make sure you get along to Storm HQ from 530 on Saturday for our Men’s double header. Now…..where did I put that ukulele????
