STORM BOY’S VIEW: Week 5 17th & 18th April 2020

G’day there Storm Troopers, welcome to this weeks previews of another big weekend of Big V Basketball which features another triple header at our place in Saturday from 3.30pm.

V Coburg, Saturday 17th April 7.30pm, Bellarine Sports Centre

After splitting their results last weekend, our Division 1 Men will be keen to make it back to back wins this Saturday night against Coburg.

Beaug’s boys are going along nicely right now, with a good spread of contributors across the board.  Last Sunday’s dominance of Melbourne Uni showed what this side is capable of.

This weekend they get the chance to make another strong impression against another side that is yet to open their account for the season.

Whilst no game should ever be taken for granted in Big V, ol’ Stormy feels that our men will have too much fire power with Reardon, Varley, Jarvie and co to be able to topple the Giants.

V Pakenham Saturday 17th April 5.30pm @ Bellarine Sports Centre

Our Division 1 Women go into Saturday, needing a win.

After scoring an upset win in the opening round, our ladies have been just off the mark in recent weeks and Coach Tim Sanderson will be keen to see a four-quarter effort from his charges after a second half fade out last week against Melbourne Uni.

This weeks opponents in Pakenham are also likely to be keen on an improved performance themselves after dropping both their games last weekend.

The winner of this one, will be the side that wants it just that little bit more than the other, which should make for an entertaining contest and one which I think the Storm Ladies should be able to get the chocolates.

V Western Port Saturday 17th April 3.30pm @ Bellarine Sports Centre

Well how about those Youth League Men!

Coach Leigh Dawson has his young soldiers sitting in second spot in the Terrill Conference and looking really good right now.

With Ethan’s squared leading the way, the Storm had six players reach double figures in scoring, which demonstrates the firepower of this side.

With Western Port struggling to get their season going, this is another opportunity for this side to stamp themselves as one of the teams to beat this season.

Based on what he’s seen so far this season, Stormy feels quite confident that our Youth League Men will get Saturday’s triple header off to a big start and record another win.

Make sure you get along to the Bellarine Sports Centre Saturday from 3.30 to cheer hard for your Bellarine Storm!

In the meantime……Storm Boy…..OUT!
