Bellarine Storm are seeking suitably qualified applicants for the Head Coach positions of our Youth League Women and Youth League Men’s programs. Both teams are currently in BigV’s Youth League 2 Division with the Women’s team to participate in the qualifying play-in event seeking promotion to Youth League 1 after winning the 2024 championship.
Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate high level planning and communication skills and be willing to work within the Bellarine Storm framework of player development. Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate their fit within the Bellarine Storm club values and ability to work as part of a team to help drive the Storm’s BigV program forward.
Essential requirements:
- Club (Level 1) Basketball Australia Coaching Accreditation
- Current Working With Children Check
- Driver’s Licence
Desirable but not essential requirements:
- Association (Level 2) Basketball Australia Coaching Accreditation.
- Prior senior representative experience in Head or Assistant coaching role.
Expectations of the role:
- Live the clubs values of respect, integrity, commitment, communication and enjoyment
- Work within club development plan
- Work with the State Championship teams Head Coach to run an organised and cohesive program
- Assist the administration staff with management of the team
- Attend all games and training sessions throughout the pre season and season
Expected Duties:
- Plan for and implement player development strategies in conjunction with High Performance Manager and senior Head Coach
- Create practice plans and manage progression throughout the season
- Complete opposition scouts to best prepare team for games throughout the season
- Attend club events
- Create and maintain a connection with the VJBL program especially at u18 and u20 level
