Storm Boys View Round 17

Hello Storm fans and air conditioners, welcome to this very special night at Storm HQ for our MND Round.

Youth League Women

Saturday 23rd July 2022 v Chelsea 4:00pm @ Bellarine Secondary College

Even with finals now locked in, our Youth League Women must now focus on retaining top spot and home court advantage for the finals series.

Despite not beiong likely to make finals, tonight’s opponents in Chelsea are still a danger to the Storm as they have nothing to lose and that can be dangerous if a side is just off on the night.

The best thing about this Storm team is that they are playing great team basketball, not relying on any one player to get the job done or in sports talk “every player is playing their role”.

Tonight should be no exception and the Storm should kick off tonights festivities with another victory.

Division 1 Women

Saturday 23rd July 2022 v Sherbrooke 6:00pm @ Bellarine Secondary College

The 2022 Big V campaign is reaching an end for our Division 1 Women in the next couple of weeks, with only a coupole of games remaining to try and squeeze out at least one more win.

Unfortunately, tonights chance comes against top side Sherbrooke who are one very sharply drilled outfit and favourites to take the title this season.

As I mentioned earlier, sometimes teams in that spot can sometimes take their foot off the gas when in this position.  And with the price of petrol right now, we could hope that Sherbrooke can’t afford to ‘fill up’ and give the Storm the opening they need to cause a boilover in this one.

Stormy’s always a believer in glass half full, so never say never in this one!

Division 1 Men

Saturday 23rd July v Shepparton 8:00pm @ Bellarine Secondary College

Speaking of petrol prices, we welcome Shepp to Storm HQ tonight and hope they didn’t have to sell too many body parts to afford the gas to get down here tonight!

The Gators are always a hard proposition as they play a real tight knit team game and will no doubt be keen to get the win tonight.

Sitting just above us on the ladder, they’ll be keen to keep that advantage heading into the finals in a couple of weeks, so this promises to be a cracker of a game.

Last time we met was in Round 3 back in April, where the Gator’s came out on top by 22 points.  A lot has changed for the Storm since the early stages of the season.  Over the last 14 rounds, the Storm are now playing much better basketball and are starting to his their straps at the right time of the season.

Whilst this should be a great game, Stormy feels our boys will just outshade the Gator’s and get the win.
