Welcome troops, to Ol’ Stormy’s weekly crystal ball gazing as we head into Round 15.
Division 1 Women
Saturday 9th July v Mildura 6:00pm @ Mildura Hothouse
A great result for our Women last weekend as theory scored another win, however, the workload doesn’t get any easier as the ladies ‘hit the road Jack’ to head North to Mildura to take on the Heat.
We have a good record against the Heat, having beaten them up there in the opening round last season and then again at our place earlier this season.
The bad news for Mildura is that our Ladies have improved since that meeting and will be primed to score the win and make it two in a row.
It’s a tough place to win in Mildura in front of their ‘enthusiastic’ fans but Stormy is feeling it and thinks the Storm will TCB (take care of business).
Division 1 Men
Saturday 9th July 7:00pm @ Bellarine Secondary College
A tough loss for our Div 1 Men last week against Melbourne Uni and this weeks Mission, is to host number 2 on the ladder in Keysborough at our place.
Now old Stormy likes a Sir David Attenborough Doco as much as anyone, however I’m not sure how Cougars go in a Storm but I suspect they don’t like it, so lets hope our Storm can blow them off the court and get back that winning feeling!
Whatever happens, methinks it will be an extremely entertaining game and Stormy is certain his good buddies the Peanut Gallery will keep the opposition under pressure for the night.
Storm to get the hot chocolate in this one.
Youth League Women
Sunday 10th July v Albury/Wodonga 12:00pm @ Bellarine Secondary College
Despite sitting on top of the table, this weekend’s game is a danger game for our Youth League Women as we host Albury/Wodonga.
The Border Bandits have played some good ball this season and will be keen to see how they go against the top team in the Comp.
The challenge for our Ladies is to play the game on our terms and control the contest for the full 40 minutes.
Piper Copeland is playing some nice ball right now herself and with Carly Sanders, Millie Sibley and Sienna Quinlan, the Storm has a strong backbone and they will likely be the difference in this one.
Youth League Men
Sunday 10th July 2:00pm v Mornington @ Bellarine Secondary College
A nice bounce back for our Youth League Men last week and another fascinating game on Sunday as we host Mornington, who sit just below us in 4th place in the Watson Conference.
The visitors are in a bit of a battle to hold 4th spot leading into finals, so will be keen to keep themselves ahead going into this one, so it’ll be on like Donkey Kong from the opening tip off.
The return to form of Ethan Nicholls was a welcome addition last round and with Ethan McDonald, Ryan Robinson and the Brothers Whelan in some nice form of late, Stormy feels that we may just rain on Mornington’s parade in this one.
STORM BOY………OUT!!!!
