Storm Boy’s View – BigV 2022 Round 6

Welcome one and all to my laser-like previews of the games for our Storm sides this week. Compulsory reading if Stormy does say so himself!

Division 1 Men

Saturday 30th April v Warrnambool 7:30pm Bellarine Secondary College

Sunday 1st May v Collingwood 2:00pm Bellarine Secondary College

A bit of an understatement, that these two games are important for Beugs and the boys to get back that winning feeling and keep touch with things at the pointy end of the ladder.

Interestingly, Warrnambool and Collingwood played each other last week, with the boys from the ‘Bool picking up a comfy win, meaning they’ll come into this one with some confidence, whilst the ‘Woods will be keen to atone.

All makes for an interesting weekend of games with Stormy hearing that our boys have been working hard on the track this week and are ready to go.

Stormy’s never been a shrinking violet and this is definitely the case this week, as I stick my neck out and tip a 2-0 outcome for the weekend, that being 2 Storm wins!

Youth League Men

Sunday 1st May v Pakenham 12:00pm Bellarine Secondary College

This is possibly the biggest test for our Youth League Men this season as they face up to the undefeated Pakenham on Sunday afternoon in the early game.

Stormy has been super impressed with the way our lads have been going about their work in recent weeks, in a four game winning streak. The pleasing thing has been the across the board contribution from the team on both the scoreboard and on the glass.

This promises to be a ring-a-ding-ding battle for the points should the Storm come out of this with the ‘W’ (and there’s no reason why they can’t) we’ll be right in the mix for this year’s title.

Youth League Women

Saturday 30th April v Whittlesea 5:30pm Bellarine Secondary College

Another big game this weekend as our undefeated Youth League Women have a big test against fellow top team Whittlesea on Saturday night.

The Pacers have only dropped one game this season, so will present a big challenge for the Storm to get over to keep their unblemished record intact.

Guards Sofia Ruscitti and Isabella Ryan have been the keys for the Pacers, however, we have ‘Cyclone’ Sanders at our disposal and in her current form, Stormy feels this is the difference between the two teams in this one and enough for our ladies to move to 6-0 for the season.

Well that’s it for this week, congratulations for making it through to the end of Stormy’s ramblings. Have a great weekend and make sure you get to Storm HQ this weekend to cheer our sides on.
