BigV YLW – Head & Assistant Coach Positions

Bellarine Storm are seeking coaching applicants for our new youth league women’s program set to be launched in the 2022 season. The youth league program will complete the Storm’s pathway from junior to senior basketball with the aim of developing and promoting players through the Storm system. Both Head Coach and Assistant coach are voluntary roles. Youth League Women – Head Coach 

The youth league women’s Head Coach will work under the direction of the High Performance Manager and senior women’s Head Coach. Applicants must be willing to work in a program aligned approach to player development and systems of play. 

Key Selection Criteria:

  1. Demonstrated ability to develop skills and game understanding of youth basketball players. 
  2. Demonstrated ability and continued willingness to uphold the BPBA values of respect, integrity, commitment, communication and enjoyment. 
  3. Demonstrated ability to plan for development and how this has been implemented in previous coaching positions. 
  4. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and people management skills. 

Bellarine Storm also require the applicant to:

  1. Hold a current Working With Children (WWC) Card
  2. Hold an Association (Level 2) NCAS coaching accreditation 
  3. Work closely with VJBL coaches to identify and enhance development of future Storm youth league/senior players
  4. Provide scouting notes and video to athletes to aid performance
  5. Provide regular feedback to enhance the development of athletes 
  6. Not coach in any other VJBL program outside of Bellarine Storm

Youth League Women – Assistant Coach

Key Selection Criteria:

  1. Demonstrated ability to develop skills and game understanding of youth basketball players. 
  2. Demonstrated ability and continued willingness to uphold the BPBA values of respect, integrity, commitment, communication and enjoyment. 
  3. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and people management skills. 

Bellarine Storm also require the applicant to:

  1. Hold a current Working With Children (WWC) Card
  2. Hold a minimum Club (Level 1) NCAS coaching accreditation 
  3. Work closely with the Head Coach to conduct training sessions, scout opponents, and provide feedback/development opportunity to athletes. 
  4. Not coach in any other VJBL program outside of Bellarine Storm
