Youth League Men
Saturday 2nd July v Western Port 4:00pm Bellarine Secondary College
It’s been a tough couple of weeks for our Youth League Men, losing their last couple of outings. Despite that, the Storm are still in pretty good shape and get the chance to bounce back to the winners podium in this one.
This is a cross-conference meeting for these two sides, so anything goes in some respects. Stormy feels though, that with Ryan Robinson, Ethan McDonald, Vincent Whelan and Jarvis Gleeson, we should have the tools to get the job done toi open the night with a win.
Division 1 Women
Saturday 2 July v Melbourne Uni 6:00pm Bellartine Secondary College
It’s fair to say that our Division 1 Women have been on and off more than a light switch in the first half of the season, due to the number of byes, some caused by a late reshuffle of the draw a couple of weeks prior to the season.
The good news is, that our Storm ladies will now be able to string a few games together in the remainder of the season, starting Saturday night when we host the Melbourne Uni Black Angels.
Stormy has a feeling in his stomach that this is a big chance of a win for the side (or it might be last night’s mexican food, I’m not sure).
The Storm have been a bit Jekyll and Hyde in recent weeks, but Stormy’s inside mail is that the good one is going to turn up this week and grab the points.
Division 1 Men
Saturday 2nd July v Melbourne Uni 8:00pm Bellarine Secondary College
This shapes up as a super contest, with the visitors only having lost the one game for the season and guess who that was, that beat them….you got it, we did!
The Storm are on a real roll right now, having won their last 7 games, with Maxy Kos in nice form, along with Nathan Gronbeck in recent weeks along with the experience of Lewie Varley, Marko Vekic and Leigh Saffin.
With the likely return of Jason reardon to the line up, the Storm will be a tough proposition and should be front and centre to inflict Melbourne Uni’s second loss for the season in this one.
Youth League Women
Saturday 2nd July v Melton 6:00pm Cobblebank Stadium
Sunday 3rd July v Whittlesea 1:00pm Mill Park Stadium
Its a road double for our Youth League Women as they travel to Melton and Whittlesea for their games.
Following a little hiccup a couple of weeks ago, the ladies returned to the winners circle last weekend and will be keen to bank these two wins to shure up their position at the top of the table.
Whilst Whittlesea present a good challenge, always being tough to beat on their own pine, the Storm should still have the upper hand and whilst you can’t ever take things for granted, they should account for Melton the night before.
Now….that mexican is coming back again….where’s the Mylanta???
