BELLARINE STORM CONFIRM MUTUAL RELEASE OF KERRY RICHARDSON
Bellarine Peninsula Basketball Association has mutually released forward Kerry Richardson from his playing contract, effective immediately.
Richardson has decided not to return for the 2026 Big V season due to personal reasons, a decision the Association respects and supports.
General Manager Nick Stamatopoulos acknowledged Kerry’s contribution to the program, noting that while the Club was disappointed not to have him return, the decision was handled with professionalism on both sides.
“Kerry has been a valued part of our program and someone who consistently represented the Storm in a positive way,” Stamatopoulos said. “While we’re disappointed not to have him with us in 2026, we respect his decision and are grateful for the contribution he made both on and off the court. On behalf of the Club, I’d like to thank Kerry for his time with us and wish him all the best moving forward.”
During his time with the Bellarine Storm, Richardson made an impact not only on the court but within the wider basketball community, regularly engaging with junior players and representing the Club with pride.
Reflecting on his time with the Storm, Richardson expressed his appreciation for the organisation and the community that supported him.
“I want to sincerely thank the Bellarine Storm organisation, my teammates, and the wider community for the support and warmth shown to me during my time with the Club,” Richardson said. “This wasn’t an easy decision, but due to personal reasons I’ve decided not to compete in the 2026 Big V season. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have been part of such a strong and supportive basketball community, and I wish the Club and everyone involved nothing but success moving forward.”
The Association has now commenced the process of identifying a suitable replacement ahead of the 2026 Big V season and will provide further updates in due course.
