VJBL Wrap Friday 11th August 2023

It was the last round of VJBL for the regular season last night and with 9 teams already into the finals, our Under 14 Boys 2 side needed to defeat Geelong United in their final game to make it 10 Storm representatives in the post-season.

Sadly, the boys just couldn’t get the job done going down by 16 points in the end. Mason Poirier was the leader with 12 points for the night.

There were at least 8 wins across the night, with two games where scores were unavailable at the time of publishing this round up.

A very nice night for Jamieson Renkauskas scoring 24 as our Under 18 Boys cruised to a 34 point win over Craigieburn, whilst Joshua Grant finished with 22 points for our Under 14 Boys 1 side as they defeated Wangaratta by 12 points.

For the girls, Lila Butcher had a strong night against Blackburn scoring 22 points in their 31 point victory, with Lyla Kenny contributing 16 points for our Under 14 Girls 3’s 15 point loss to Sunbury.

As mentioned previously, well done to the following sides on making it through to the VJBL Finals for this season:

Under 12 Boys 1, Under 12 Boys 2, Under 12 Boys 3, Under 12 Girls 1, Under 14 Boys 1, Under 14 Girls 3, Under 16 Boys 3, Under 18 Boys 1, Under 18 Girls 1

To our teams who didn’t make it through, we say a big thank you to you for giving it your all through the season for the Storm. We really appreciate your efforts.
